Saudi Arabia’s investors are exploring investment opportunities in Ethiopia, and they are impressed by the business climate in agro-processing and livestock spheres.
A high-level Saudi Arabia investment and trade delegation, consisting of 79 investors and representing renowned companies is visiting the investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
As part of the delegation tour, those investors witnessed today the activities of local and international manufacturers in Bishoftu city that have engaged various sectors.
Most importantly, the investors’ visit covered agro-processing, livestock and fish, feed processing, coffee packaging, and other manufacturing sectors.
Following their visit, the investors told ENA that they had been impressed by the favorable situation to investment activities in Ethiopia and expressed a desire to create a joint venture with investors here.
Approached by ENA, Khalid al-Hajri from Al Majal Agriculture and Industry Company said his company is looking forward to the investment opportunities in Ethiopia’s untapped agro-business.
On his part, Engineer Muhammad Bin Mahfouz, CEO of Masdar al-Hayat Food Industries said Ethiopia has immense potential particularly, in livestock and food processes.
Yesterday, Ethio-Saudi Arabia investment and trade forum, Plan and Development Minister Fitsum Assefa called on Saudi investors to seize Ethiopia’s lucrative opportunities that have been facilitated to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the past few years of the reform period.
