The Managing Director of Operations (MDO) of the World Bank, Anna Bjerde along with World Bank Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa, Victoria Kwakwa will visit Ethiopia from December 7-8, 2023, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The objective of the visit is to enhance support for the people of Ethiopia and strengthen the collaborative relationship between the Government and the World Bank.
The executives will engage in high-level meetings with government officials and development partners.
They will also have an opportunity to visit an Urban Productive Safety Net and Jobs Project (UPSNJP) site to engage with beneficiaries to better understand the impact of the project.
The visit to the UPSNJP site highlights the World Bank’s commitment to addressing the needs of vulnerable urban communities in Ethiopia.
It also demonstrates the World Bank’s dedication to ensuring that development projects are effective and responsive to the needs of the people they aim to serve.
