The Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association (AACCSA) has organized a consultative panel discussion focused on how to foster the participation of the private sector in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
In her opening remarks, President of the AACCSA Mesenbet Shenkutie underscored the role of AfCFTA in building Ethiopia’s trade capacity and making the sector to be competent in the international market.
Mesenbet also urged the private sector to supply the market with quality products and services thereby contributing to the successful implementation of the AfCFTA.
She explained that there is a mechanism that would help the government monitor the quality standards of the services and products to be supplied by the private sector in this regard.
AfCFTA connects 1.3 billion people across 55 countries with a combined gross domestic product (GDP) valued at 3.4 trillion USD.
