Pakistan pledges to facilitate its vast market opportunities for Ethiopian products

The government of Pakistan has vowed to facilitate its vast market opportunities to Ethiopian products with a bid to further strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

Advancing bilateral ties through trade was the focus of discussion during a meeting between Ethiopia’s Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, Kassahun Gofe, and a Pakistani delegation led by Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, and head of African Affairs, in Addis Ababa today.

On the occasion, Mr. Kassahun and the Pakistani delegation discussed bilateral trade relations between the two countries, the Minister said in a social media post following fruitful engagement with the Paki delegates.

The Ethiopia-Pakistan longstanding diplomatic and trade relations were brought to attention during the meeting.

“We have taken a common understanding that if the two countries work together with their population and production potential, we can achieve better mutual results,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Hamid congratulated Ethiopia for its outstanding performance in export trade.

He also promised to facilitate the vast market opportunity in Pakistan for Ethiopian products.

In response, the Minister assured support to the expo that Pakistan will organize in Addis Ababa next May.
