Japanese Investors Invited to Engage in Ethiopia’s Industrial Parks, Free Trade Zones

Japan’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Shibata Hironori said that strong efforts are being made to encourage more Japanese investors to invest in industrial parks and Free Trade Zones in various investment sectors in Ethiopia.

The ambassador discussed with Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) CEO Aklilu Tadesse.

On the occasion, the ambassador said “We are trying to attract more Japanese investors to invest in industrial parks.”

Industrial Parks Development Corporation CEO Aklilu Tadesse, stated that the share of Japanese investors in industrial parks is not as expected considering the long-term relationship between Ethiopia and Japan.

Therefore, he emphasized the need for strong cooperation to increase the investment flow between the two countries affirming the corporation’s readiness to support the initiative.

Recently, a cornerstone stone was laid to build a giant Japanese company that produces secret printing products that meet international security standards, including passports, at Bole Lemi Industrial Park, according to IPDC.
