Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), has signed an agreement with 11 local and foreign companies that have shown interest in investing in industrial parks across Ethiopia.
CEO of the IPDC, Aklilu Tadesse, has signed the agreement with representatives of the respected companies.
According to the agreement, the companies will engage in production activities in parks located in Mekelle, Jimma, Bahir Dar, Kilinto, and Bole Lemi Industrial parks.
The companies with a total of 100 million USD will secure industrial factory sheds placed on 31,000 sq m of land and an additional 4.5 ha of land to be used for various purposes.
According to IPDC, the companies are expected to create job opportunities for more than 5,000 citizens and facilitate market links for more than 50,000 farmers.
