The chief administrator of Gambella region, Mr. Umod Ujulu invited Indian businesspeople to exploit the alluring investment opportunities in Gambella region, Ethiopia.
Mr. Umod extended his invitation to Indian industrialists during a business meeting organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at the FICCI Federation House, in the Indian capital.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Umod Ujulu, Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, Demeke Atnafu, the head of Gambella Region Investment Bureau, Lou, and Mr. Elias Gedamu, Head of Majang zone of Gambella region.
In his remark at the meeting, Umod Ujulu highlighted the extensive investment prospects within the Gambella region, including its rich natural resources such as agriculture, and fertile soil coupled with abundant water resources.
He eventually extended an invitation to Indian entrepreneurs, urging them to invest in Gambella and take part in Ethiopia’s transformative journey toward sustainable development and economic prosperity.
Dr. Lou, the Head of the Regional Investment Bureau expounded the region’s investment opportunities across priority sectors such as agriculture, industry, mining, tourism, and ICT with a particular focus on agriculture, agro-processing, aquaculture, apiculture, livestock, and fishery development areas.
The interactive session was attended by representatives comprising over 30 companies, present both physically and via Zoom.
It is stated that Mr. Umod and his delegation arrived in India on December 16, 2023, for a working visit, according to the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi.
