An Ethiopian delegation led by Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, held discussions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with Mr. Hassan Bin Mujab Al-Huwaizi, President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, and Mr. Mohammad Alabduljabar, Acting Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade.
The two sides discussed strengthening trade and investment cooperation between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia.
During the discussion, Ambassador Mesganu highlighted the outcomes of the recently held Ethiopia-Saudi Arabia Business Forum in Addis Ababa, which he said laid a strong foundation for bilateral economic cooperation.
He also emphasized that Ethiopia’s ongoing economic reforms aim to create a favorable business environment for foreign investors.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported today that the State Minister called on Saudi investors to seize the opportunities available in Ethiopia and actively participate in various trade and investment sectors.
In response, the Saudi side expressed their appreciation for the visit of the high-level Ethiopian delegation this week, noting that it reflects the strength of the historical and strategic relations between the two nations. They also pledged to encourage Saudi companies to explore and take advantage of investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
