Ethiopian Investment Holdings and Dodai Manufacturing Partner to Drive Sustainable Transport in Ethiopia

Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH) and Dodai Manufacturing PLC have announced a partnership to promote sustainable transportation across Ethiopia. The agreement aims to advance green economic development and align with Ethiopia’s climate resilience goals.

At the launch ceremony, EIH CEO Brook Taye (PhD) emphasized the partnership’s alignment with the government’s climate agenda. “Our commitment to supporting initiatives that create jobs and promote a climate-resilient economy remains unwavering,” Brook said. He added that diversifying EIH’s investments into alternative energy, similar to Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU), will ensure long-term financial sustainability and build critical energy infrastructure.

Dodai Founder and CEO Yuma Sasaki highlighted the significance of the collaboration in transforming Ethiopia’s transportation sector. “Dodai is committed to establishing 100 battery swap stations in the next year, improving services based on real-time data,” Yuma noted.

The initiative, which plans to expand to 300 stations in the next three years, aims to cut emissions, enhance urban mobility, and create 100,000 jobs. In addition, EIH and Dodai will raise public awareness about the benefits of electric vehicles, promoting greener, more sustainable transport solutions across the country.
