Ethiopian industrial parks emerge as key investment destinations for Chinese investors

Ethiopian industrial parks have become a focal point for Chinese investors, as highlighted by Yang Yihang, Economic and Commerce Minister Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Addis Ababa.

In a meeting with Fiseha Yitagesu, CEO of the Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), discussions centered around enhancing direct investments from China into the country’s industrial parks and the Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone.

The conversation also addressed collaborative efforts to kick off the expansion of the Adama Hunan Industrial Park. The Adama Hunan Project represents the second phase of the Adama Industrial Park, with Fiseha noting that the 125 hectares needed for its development are now ready for construction.

Fiseha emphasized the importance of deepening the investment relationship between Ethiopia and China, citing the participation of Chinese investors in the country’s industrial sectors and the Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone as a successful model for collaboration.
