Ethiopian Company Called Gelila Manufacturing To Build Bus Assembly Plant In Mekele

 In a ceremony attended by key stakeholders, Gelila Manufacturing, a local company, laid the foundation stone for its bus assembly plant at the Mekele Industrial Park, Mekele city, capital of Tigray region.

The facility, which spans 31,000 square meters of leased land, will assemble various types of buses with an investment capital of 564 million birr.

The groundbreaking ceremony brought together members of the industrial park management, officials from the Tigray region interim administration, and the company’s owners, according to the Industrial Parks Development Corporation of Ethiopia (IPDC).

The company plans to assemble different buses for local and foreign markets after the construction phase and the initiation of operations.

Once fully operational, the facility is expected to generate numerous job opportunities for the local community, as stated by IPDC.
