Ethiopia has signed a host country agreement with AeTrade Group, an African Diaspora-led social enterprise, to establish its East African regional headquarters in Addis Ababa.
AeTrade Group, a multi-stakeholder initiative of African professionals and business leaders, focuses on enhancing intra- and inter-African trade through e-empowerment programs, aiming to create lasting job opportunities across the continent.
State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mesganu Arga, speaking at the signing ceremony, highlighted the partnership’s potential to strengthen the digital economy, create jobs, support start-ups, and advance regional integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
“This agreement is vital for facilitating AfCFTA and fostering economic growth,” said Ambassador Mesganu, reaffirming Ethiopia’s commitment to supporting AeTrade Group’s operations.
