Ethiopia has launched a National Coffee Stakeholder Engagement Platform to properly utilize the resources of the sector by addressing the existing challenges.
Speaking during the occasion, Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority Director-General Adugna Debela said the platform will have immense importance in addressing challenges in the sector and utilizing opportunities effectively.
According to him, the platform provides access for all stakeholders to discuss various coffee-related issues from cultivation to the market with the view to enhance coffee productivity and quality.
Adugna further noted that the National Coffee Platform will also create transparency in the sector by easily monitoring the overall activities of stakeholders engaged in the sector in various ways with a view to addressing challenges and enhancing efficiency.
Finance State Minister, Semerita Sewasew on her part said the establishment of this platform will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the coffee sector in Ethiopia.
She added that the Platform is a crucial step forward in tackling the challenges and seizing the opportunities in the sector.
