Gambella Regional State’s Investment Commission has announced that close to 200 investors, with a combined registered capital of Birr 1 billion.

Low Ubup (PhD), the Chief Commissioner of the Gambella Regional Investment Commission, revealed that the investors were engaged in diverse sectors, including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and services.
Highlighting the region’s untapped potential, Low (PhD) emphasized that Gambella was endowed with abundant natural resources, such as fertile land, ample water resources, livestock and fisheries, and mineral deposits, which make it an ideal destination for investment.
Over 270 investors have transitioned their projects from the planning phase to operational status, contributing to production and service delivery in the region. These operational investments are playing a pivotal role in job creation, boosting regional revenue, fostering a culture of productivity, and enhancing national output.
According to the Commission, 40 investors who failed to fulfill their investment commitments from the 2023/24 fiscal year have already faced sanctions.
