Ethiopia: Documents Authentication and Registration Service Achieves Birr 2.5 Billion Revenue in 2023/24 Fiscal Year

The Federal Documents Authentication and Registration Service (DARS) announced that it generated Birr 2.5 billion in revenue from its verification and registration services during the 2023/24 fiscal year.

Over the last fiscal year, 919,941 cases were handled across various service sectors, with 726,535 of these cases being processed online. More than 6,000 customers are served daily without requiring appointments.

The revenue collected from these services, which amounted to Birr 2.5 billion, exceeded the initial target of Birr 2 billion set by the institution. This represents a Birr 1.3 billion increase compared to the same period last year.
Key services contributing to this revenue include vehicle sales, bank loan contracts, representation, business association registration, meeting minutes, oaths, pre-marital property agreements, and the provision of certified documents to beneficiaries.

The institution has increased the number of branches from 15 to 17 in Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa and is preparing to open two more branches in Addis Ababa to offer special services.
