The Ethiopian Youth Entrepreneurs Association (EYEA) and Ethiopia-China Friendship & Cooperation Committee signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday in Beijing, the Ethiopian Embassy in the Chinese capital confirmed.
Ethiopian Ambassador to China, Tefera Derbew, in his speech at the signing ceremony, appreciated the young entrepreneur and president of EYEA, Ms. Samya Abdulkadir, and Ms. Betty Xu, Chairperson of the Ethiopia-China Friendship & Cooperation Committee as well as their team for taking the lead to establish the partnership.
It is learned that the MoU is expected to boost Ethiopian youth entrepreneurs’ relations with their Chinese counterparts.
Highlighting the importance of this friendship to both sides, the Ambassador mentioned that this partnership creates a mechanism that will align youth engagement in public diplomacy, investment, technology transfer, and trade promotion activities between Ethiopia and China.
He added that Ethiopia is the most endowed country with great potential for a huge reservoir of human and financial capital which is an important bridge between the two friendly countries.
For her part, Betty Xu expressed her gratitude to the Embassy for its unconditional support and for hosting the MoU signing. She expounded on the major activities of the Committee so far.
Ms. Betty and the Ambassador concurred that EYEA will serve as the bridge between Ethiopia and China in various spheres.
Ms. Samya Abdulkadir, President of EYEA, expressed her happiness and commitment to continue working with Chinese counterparts by promoting the partnership and enhancing the relations between the two countries.
