Equb Financial Technologies has signed a partnership agreement with Awash Bank S.C. to promote digital saving services in Ethiopia.
Equb Financial Technologies is an Ethiopian startup that has digitized the country’s age-long traditional saving method (Equb) into a digital saving system.
The signing agreement signed today aims to expand the startup’s digital presence in the country thereby scaling up its services through the use of Awash Pro Mobile App.
It is stated at the signing ceremony that the Equb Financial Technology app enables users to get access to interest-free savings and credit services.
Alexander Abay, CEO of Equb Technologies, stated on the occasion that the platform helps individuals to establish their digital saving associations, and transfer payments via electronic system which in turn helps them save time and cost.
He added that the platform also enables saving associations to forge partnerships for mutual financial services and contribute to the national efforts to revolutionize the digital financial ecosystem.
Abel Tadelle, FSD Ethiopia representative, commended the platform as an important platform to promote the digital saving system and help ensure financial inclusion in the country. It is stated on the occasion that the eQUB App is available on Google Play Store.
