Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) has unveiled a project tailored to capacitate some 1,000 private companies in the manufacturing industry.
The beneficiary companies are operating in Oromia, Amhara, and Sidama regions.
The project is said to enhance the capacity of the council and enable the two institutions to work together on agribusiness operations, advocacy, and development of policy options.
Moreover, the project is said to be instrumental in increasing the productivity of onions, avocados, and soybeans and creating a market link for producers.
President of ECCSA, Melaku Ezezew, stated that the project will have a paramount significance in enhancing the capacity of the private sector boosting productivity, and stabilizing the market through supporting the supply chain.
GIZ representative Prof Fikre Lemessa, for his part, said his organization will provide technical and related assistance to the council to help enhance the capacity of the private companies and increase the productivity of the agriculture sector.
