DIFTZ Applauds Ethiopia’s Green Mobility, Seeks Deeper Partnership

The Djibouti International Free Trade Zone (DIFTZ) has commended Ethiopia’s green mobility effort to foster sustainable development.

Recall the Ministry of Transport and Logistics staged the Green Mobility Exhibition in Addis Ababa from November 22-30, 2024, to showcase electric vehicle solutions and support sustainable transportation.

In an exclusive interview with ENA, Director of Marketing Development at DIFTZ Faye Ma expressed keen interest in further strengthening collaboration with Ethiopia.

Ma specifically acknowledged the efforts of Ethiopia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics in reducing carbon emissions and promoting eco-friendly transportation solutions. This aligns with DIFTZ’s own sustainability goals underscoring the potential for a mutually beneficial partnership.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics is leading Ethiopia’s transition to a greener future, and the DIFTZ is proud to be a part of this initiative. “By offering green mobility solutions and supporting Ethiopia’s electric vehicle initiative, DIFTZ is committed to reducing carbon emissions and contributing to sustainable development goals,” she underscored.

The trade zone participated in the Green Mobility Exhibition in Addis Ababa.

“Alongside international companies, including Chinese investors, DIFTZ showcased the latest electric vehicle technology, highlighting the potential for a greener and more sustainable future,” the director added.

Ma emphasized Ethiopia’s well-developed infrastructure and the Ministry of Transport’s strong partnership with the private sector as key drivers for the adoption of electric vehicles and the transition to a sustainable transportation system.

According to the director, the immense potential of the Ethiopian market particularly in the realm of green mobility, citing the country’s large and youthful population, extends beyond transportation and encompasses various sectors.

Expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality and impressive organization of the Green Mobility Exhibition, Ma shared a Chinese proverb: “If you want to get rich, build a road.”

She also affirmed that this event marked the beginning of a series of fruitful collaborations between Ethiopia and Djibouti, given their strong bilateral relations.
