A high-level delegation from Jiangsu Province, China, led by Governor Xu Kunlin, arrived in Addis Ababa this morning, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Upon their arrival at Bole International Airport, they were greeted by State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, Director-General of Middle East, Asian and Pacific Affairs, Ambassador Negus Kebede and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation, which includes senior government officials and leaders of anchor companies from Jiangsu, is expected to hold discussions with senior government officials during their stay in Addis Ababa.
The delegation will also participate in the China-Africa (Ethiopia) Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, which opens later today in Addis Ababa.
Jiangsu is China’s second-largest economy, with 76 of its companies actively investing in Ethiopia. Their total investments exceed 1.3 billion dollars.
