The National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) has announced the results of the Foreign Exchange Auction held today.
The weighted average rate of all successful bids was Birr 131.4961 per US Dollar and a total of 26 banks received foreign exchange allocations under the auction. Moreover, 96 percent of banks’ foreign exchange demand/request was satisfactorily met by the $70 million of foreign exchange sold at today’s auction.
The next Foreign Exchange Auction will be held in two weeks, and an announcement of the specific date and time will be made public prior to the auction date, NBE reminded.
