The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has received recognition and certification from SISA, an international organization working on cyber security, for meeting the requirements of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
It is noted that the bank has been able to be recognized for meeting basic cyber security requirements such as using a secure network, protecting card users’ information, establishing a vulnerability detection and prevention system, conducting regular network inspections and inspections, developing and implementing an information security policy, and so on.
The latest recognition is said to be an attestation of CBE’s strong work to avoid possible losses by identifying and preventing cyber-attack methods and updating payment systems, despite the increasing number of cyber-attacks on card payments.
The Bank asserted that it is regularly investing in building a strong cyber threat detection and defense system.
