An Ethiopian investment promotion forum held in Brazil

An Ethiopian Investment Promotion Forum was held in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, and the event was graced by the East African nation’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga.

On the occasion, the state minister highlighted Ethiopia’s priority areas in agro-processing, manufacturing, mining, tourism and ICT.

He emphasized the favorable investment environment as a result of the comprehensive economic reforms undertaken in Ethiopia, lucrative opportunities that the country offers and called on Brazilian companies to invest in Ethiopia.

Ambassador Mesganu detailed Ethiopia’s extensive market access due to its geographical location, attractive incentive packages, favorable policies, industrial parks and improved infrastructures. He also explained being a member of BRICS and having a direct daily flight between Addis Ababa and São Paulo provides an ideal opportunity for Brazilian investors to invest in Ethiopia.

The investment promotion forum was attended by representatives of Brazilian companies engaged in agro-processing, manufacturing, mining and tourism, as well as Trade Councils and Industry Federations.

On the occasion, the participants of the forum reaffirmed their desire to engage in investment in Ethiopia and strengthen trade and tourism exchanges between the two countries.
