Ambassador encourages Indian investors to explore opportunities in Ethiopia

In a keynote address at the opening of the “Advanced Manufacturing using AI, ML and Innovation” conference hosted by the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu State, Ambassador Extraordinary, and Plenipotentiary Fesseha Shawel emphasized the vast economic potential for collaboration between Ethiopia and India.

The Ambassador highlighted the Ethiopian Government’s commitment to economic reforms aimed at creating a favorable environment for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). He encouraged Indian investors to explore opportunities in key sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, ICT, mining, and tourism.

During the event, Prof. KC Jankee, President of WASME and Ambassador of Mauritius to Russia, addressed the influence of technology on entrepreneurship and small to medium enterprises (SMEs). Additionally, Sanjiv Layek, Executive Secretary of WASME, reiterated the organization’s commitment to empowering SMEs and promoting inclusive global growth.

The conference featured country presentations, B2B meetings, and industry tours, with a business delegation from WASME scheduled to visit Ethiopia in March 2025.
