International mining and technology expo will be inaugurated in Addis Ababa tomorrow at the Millennium Hall, the Ministry of Mines disclosed.
The ministry is working to strengthen the mining sector by developing and promoting the sector using technologies, to attract foreign direct investment, the ministry said in a statement.
The mining sector is one of the five priorities of the government in its Homegrown Economic Reform Agenda, the statement indicated, adding it is necessary to promote the sector to the international actors in order to benefit adequately from the sector.
The five-day international mining and technology expo aims to promote the sector as it attracts mining producers, exporters, and technology providers.
The participants are expected to promote their products and create working relations with other partners, it was indicated.
Moreover, there will also be discussion forums involving pertinent actors in the sector on various topics.
Higher government officials, ambassadors, heads of mining companies, experts, and representatives of national and international financial institutions are expected to participate at the expo.
